Humboldt Bay located in northern California is one of the major oyster growing areas for the state with over one million pounds of oyster meat produced annually. Although oysters are cultivated further south in Tomales Bay, Drakes Bay, Morro Bay, and others, this bay bordered by the town of Eureka, has always been one of the major oyster producers for California.
