Introduction: This report is a triennial sanitary survey update for the commercial shellfish growing areas located within Tomales Bay, Marin County, California. The purposes of this survey are to analyze bacteriological sampling results, reevaluate existing pollution sources, and evaluate any newly identified actual or potential pollution sources, and to determine if the current sanitary survey data and the resulting classification are correct. All certified commercial shellfish growing areas in Tomales Bay (Figures 1, 2, and 3) are classified as Conditionally Approved. Six certified commercial harvesters currently possess Shellfish Growing Area Certificates to commercially harvest bivalve shellfish from their areas in Tomales Bay: • Charles Friend Oyster Company (CFOC) • Cove Mussel Company (CMC) • Hog Island Oyster Company, Inc. (HIOC) • Marin Oyster Company (MOC) • Point Reyes Oyster Company, Inc. (PROC) • Tomales Bay Shellfish Farms, Inc. [dba Tomales Bay Oyster Co. (TBOC)]
