Southern Plains Network Vital Signs Monitoring Plan

Southern Plains Network. 2006. Southern Plains Network Vital Signs Monitoring Plan. Natural Resource Report Series (Midwest and Intermountain Regions). National Park Service

This Monitoring Plan (Phase II Report) for the SOPN is the second phase of a three phase development process and includes updated material from the Phase I documents. The Phase I Vital Signs Monitoring Report included: 1) monitoring goals and the planning process used to develop the monitoring program; 2) summaries of existing information concerning park natural resources and resource management issues across the network; 3) a conceptual model framework for SOPN park ecosystems; and 4) descriptions of the prioritization and selection processes for vital signs. This report adds to those previous efforts and describes our plan for implementing long-term monitoring of natural resources in the network parks.
