Kane Environmental has performed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment in conformance with the scope and limitations of ASTM Practice E1527-13 of Saratoga National Historic Park Tract 01-159 in Saratoga, New York (the Property). Any exceptions to, or deletions from, this practice are described in Section 1.4 of this report. Additionally, Kane Environmental has conducted a Phase II Environmental Site Assessment of the Property. The objective of the ESA was to identify recognized environmental conditions (RECs). The term recognized environmental conditions as defined by ASTM is the presence or likely presence of any hazardous substances or petroleum products in, on, or at a property: (1) due to any release to the environment; (2) under conditions indicative of a release to the environment; or (3) or under conditions that pose a material threat of a future release to the environment. The Property is composed of a 1.60-acre tract of Saratoga County tax parcel 170.-1-1.11 and is currently occupied by the abandoned Champlain Canal, which is vacant and overgrown. The Property is located in the Town of Saratoga, New York, in a rural area of limited development.
