Big Hole National Battlefield FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Data

Divoky D. 2015. Big Hole National Battlefield FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Data

Fire effects monitoring data collected at Big Hole National Battlefield located in southwest Montana. The data were collected during the summer and fall field seasons by the Glacier fire effects monitoring crew from 1997 - 2011. Data collected from shrub and/or grass transects are 30 meter point intercept data to obtain relative and percent cover. Shrub density data is also measured using brush belts along the same transect. Photographs are taken from each end of the transect to document change. Data collected from 50 x 20 m forest plots include tree inventory to obtain density and basal area, fuel load using Fischer's Photo Series for inventorying surface fuels, as well as all shrub transect methods for transects.
