Assateague Island National Seashore Marsh Elevation Points

Neil A and Rasmussen S. 2014. Assateague Island National Seashore Marsh Elevation Points. Assateague Island National Seashore

This dataset was collected by staff of the Environmental Data Center (EDC) at The University of Rhode Island (URI) in cooperation with the Northeast Coastal and Barrier Network (NCBN) of the National Park Service (NPS) under the project: Field Technician Support for Elevation Mapping of NPS Salt Marshes and other sites for Sea Level Rise Planning and Post- and Future Storm Evaluation which is a modification to Task Agreement P13ACAC00891 of Cooperative Agreement P09AC00212 Elevation Mapping of Critical Park Areas for Planning and Post- and Future Storm Evaluation and Modeling. The data was collected from October to December of 2014 at Assateague Island National Seashore. This dataset consists of point locations where survey grade GPS devices were used to collect Northing, Easting, and Elevation values. Northing and Easting values are referenced to NAD83 (2011) UTM Zone 18 and Elevation is referenced to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88) (Geoid12A). Locations for the points were chosen by overlaying a 20 meter grid over survey site boundaries and surveying a point at the centroids of the grid. Points were surveyed with Trimble R10 GPS receivers using Real Time Kinematic (RTK) and Post Processed Kinematic (PPK) survey styles.
