Middle School Science Fair Project: In March and April of 2014, the NPS conducted two prescribed burns in Lynn Hollow. This project tested the effects of the burn by measuring six basic parameters of water quality: pH, turbidity, temperature, nitrate levels, phosphate levels, and dissolved oxygen levels. Results indicated that the Lynn Hollow prescribed burns had little effect on water quality of the nearby stream. Complete results and further studies are recommended in the attached document.
