Status of the Lees Ferry Rainbow Trout Fishery 2014 Annual Report

Rogowski DL, Winters LK, Wolters PN, Manuell KM. Status of the Lees Ferry Rainbow Trout Fishery 2014 Annual Report. Research Permit and Reporting System

Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were initially stocked in the Colorado River downstream from the recently constructed Glen Canyon Dam in 1964. Consequently, fish management efforts and dam operations (e.g. flow regimes) continually interact to influence the trout fishery. The Arizona Game and Fish Department has consistently monitored the fishery since 1991 using boat electrofishing and creel surveys. This report presents an update of results to date.
