2014 THRO Burrowing Owl Survey. Research Permit and Reporting System
To determine Burrowing Owl numbers in prairie dog towns in Theodore Roosevelt National Park we walked 49 miles in 15 different prairie dog towns, mostly during twilight hours between 2 and 7 May 2014. We detected only 4 Burrowing Owls. They were all in the Big Plateau PDT.
