An Investigation into the Survival of Submerged Prehistoric Cultural Resources in Florida Bay, Everglades National Park

Colombo LG. An Investigation into the Survival of Submerged Prehistoric Cultural Resources in Florida Bay, Everglades National Park. Research Permit and Reporting System

This study was funded by the National Park Service in order to conduct a comprehensive study looking into the extent of possible submerged prehistoric cultural resources in Florida Bay, Everglades National Park. Results from this study illustrated minimal survival of sediment sequences likely to contain prehistoric cultural material. Thus, it has been hypothesized that sea level rise following the Last Glacial Maximum was highly erosional in the region of Florida Bay.
