We aim to examine the effect of high frequency, low intensity vs low frequency, high intensity wildfire on plant understory regeneration. The BMW area represents the high frequency, low intensity mosaic, as the same area has experienced four wildfire events in the past 20 years. The GNP area represents the low frequency, high intensity pattern, as the land burned in the 2003 Robert Fire had not burned in over a century. The goal of this study is to examine what impact this may have on forests.
