A summary of fire ecology activities and program information for the Park/network including fire effects plot workload, staffing, management objectives and monitoring results, and planning, fire monitoring, communications, and research. Also included are staff accomplishments/areas of focus, future program direction and other optional information (e.g. data analysis graphics or presentations, annual highlights, publications, program challenges, unique solutions to problems, collaboration, photographs of monitoring/fire activities, and suggestions on FFI). Rocky Mountain National Park’s fire effects crew (mostly a crew of one!) kept busy during the 2006 field season with a number of varied tasks. In addition to typical fire effects plot work, the crew spent a substantial amount of time on compliance work associated with mechanical fuels treatments, including post-treatment surveys for exotic plant species. Fire effects staff also participated in several fire use, suppression, and search and rescue assignments The following is a short review of the 2006 field season.
