Miller E and McElderly S. 2005. Yellowstone Fire Ecology Annual Report: Calendar Year 2005
A summary of fire ecology activities and program information for the Park/network including fire effects plot workload, staffing, management objectives and monitoring results, and planning, fire monitoring, communications, and research. Also included are staff accomplishments/areas of focus, future program direction and other optional information (e.g. data analysis graphics or presentations, annual highlights, publications, program challenges, unique solutions to problems, collaboration, photographs of monitoring/fire activities, and suggestions on FFI). In 2005 the main focus of Fire Effects Monitoring was to allow fire-use fires to burn. Our approach was to cover tasks from the ground up, providing for Level 1 and 2 tasks (Short term weather and fire behavior monitoring) to allow for fire-use fires before Level 3 and 4 tasks (Long term vegetation and fuels monitoring).
