Wupatki National Monument FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Database
Bunn W and Grissom P. 2015. Wupatki National Monument FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Database
This database is fire effects monitoring data collected at Wupatki National Monument in Arizona. The data were collected with standard NPS FMH protocols during spring/summer/fall field seasons by the fire effects monitoring crew out of Saguaro National Park. Data collected from herbaceous/shrub transects are 30 meter point intercept data to obtain cover. Photographs are taken to document change. Data was collected to determine the effects of two wildfires. No pre-burn data was collected since it was an unplanned event, but data collected directly adjacent as a type of control plot. Monitoring types defined were BOER (black grama) and HIJA (Hilaria jamesii, now Pleuraphis jamesii). A map of the fires is included.
