Counted numbers of fish at intervals from April, 1989 to July 1991. Looked for trends. Because of fishing pressure, a study on the presence and abundance of fish species in Buck Island Reef National Monument was conducted and covered in this report. The sites studied, census methods, species number, fish abundance, fish distribution, spatial/temporal distribution of major fish families, feeding guilds, and changes in individual taxa (Haemulidae, Acanthuridae, Labridae, Pomacentridae, and Scaridae). There are also many graphs throughout the chapter, and several tables at the end of the document.
