Ants were collected from GUMO and stored at SRSU for future genetic work. Summary of ant genera collected were Lasius (2), Paratrechina (37), Pogonomyrmex (5), Monomerium (9), Solenopsis (4), Leptothorax (1), Lionmetopum (3), Pheidole (16), Iridomyrmex (35), and Conomyrma (11).
