Quileute Use of Trees & Plants
Powell J and Morganroth C. 1998. Quileute Use of Trees & Plants. Quileute Natural Resources. La Push, WA
What follows is a description of what the traditional Quileutes knew about the use of plants and trees and what were the right places and the right times to collect them. To the extent that we can reconstruct a no-longer-existent cultural system, it represents the beliefs and practices of the aboriginal inhabitants of the region drained by the Quillayute River and its headwater rivers and creeks. It is a scientific study ... an ethno-scientific study.
