Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Processing Documents that Come Into the Research Center

Albee E, Pontbriand K, Miller-Rushing A. 2016. Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Processing Documents that Come Into the Research Center

From the document: "This SOP describes how to process documents that come into the William Otis Sawtelle Collections and Research Center. These documents could come from a variety of sources. For example, scientists that apply for research permits are required to submit final copies of published materials as well as any specimens and their corresponding metadata to park staff; outside consultants hired by the park to conduct research must write up their results; park employees might find a book or article helpful or relevant to Acadia National Park employees; or park employees may write a report on the work they are doing. These documents need to be archived and put in the appropriate place so they will be easy to access in the future."
