Great Smoky Mountains National Park Phenology Monitoring Continuous Temperature Monitoring iButtons. Paul Super, Research Coordinator; Kendra Straub, Data Manager
iButtons are used to monitor and log air temperature at tree phenology monitoring sites. Tree data is entered in the National Phenology Network (NPN) system. Continuous temperature data is appended into Aquarius which is the NPS continuous monitoring database provided by Aquatic Informatics. Data from Aquarius is accessible from https://irma.nps.gov/aqwebportal/ or you can go to the NPS IRMA portal and follow the quick link for Aquarius. Data are in two folders: "GSMIT-Tree Phenology & Soil Respiration (GRSM-01161 & GRSM-01077)" and "Tree & Herbaceous Phenology Temperature Monitoring (GRSM-01077 & GRSM-01079)". Currently, data are under review for QAQC, when they have passed QAQC data will be marked as public and will be downloadable from the Aquarius portal.
