Dowling A. 2015. Inventory of mites (Acari: Mesostigmata & Prostigmata) from several disturbed and undisturbed sites in George Washington Memorial Parkway. University of Arkansas

Habitats in various states of disturbance were sampled for litter inhabiting mites across the George Washington Memorial Parkway. Litter was collected from designated plots and arthropods were extracted using Berlese extraction. Identification focused on Bdelloidea, terrestrial Parasitengona, and Laelapidae. A total of 39 species were recorded from this group of families, with at least 13 that appear to be new to science. The most diverse site contained 12 species.
