Landscape genetics of the Island Fence Lizard (Sceloporus occidentalis becki) on Santa Cruz Island: the role of habitat complexity and climate on genetic connectivity of populations across the island.
Landscape genetics of the Island Fence Lizard (Sceloporus occidentalis becki) on Santa Cruz Island: the role of habitat complexity and climate on genetic connectivity of populations across the island.. Research Permit and Reporting System
The California Channel Islands are home to several endemic species and sub-species of amphibians and reptiles. Here, we examine the landscape genetic structure of Sceloporus occidentalis becki on Santa Cruz Island. Landscape genetics seeks to understand the role of environmental variables (habitat and climate) on the genetic connectivity of populations. Santa Cruz Island is the ideal setting for a landscape study, due to its diverse habitats and dramatic topographic relief.
