University of Nevada Las Vegas. Develop and test Mojave native plant materials: 2010 annual report
Progress on Experiment 1: Influences of light and nutrient availability on Bromus rubens abundance and biomass: Site selection was finalized in early-December. Progress on Experiment 3: Density dependent relationships of native perennial species and Bromus rubens abundance, and the establishment of competitive threshholds: We have partnered with Nevada Division of Forestry (NDF) plant nursery (Las Vegas branch) to initiate propagation for species to be used for perennial species outplanting. By late January, UNLV provided seed of the following species to the NDF nursery for propagation: Baileya multiradiata, Bebbia juncea, Encelia farinosa, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Penstemon pamerii, and Sphaeralca ambigua.
