Burton J. 2015. Little River Canyon National Preserve FFI Fire Effects Monitoring Data
Fire effects monitoring data were collected at Little River Canyon National Preserve in Alabama by the Natchez Trace Fire Effects Crew. The field season for this park is early spring to late fall. Plots consist of 50 X 20 and 25 X 20 meter forest plots. Data is collected to obtain density and basal area of overstory and pole trees, fuel load using Brown's method for inventorying surface fuels and biomass, seedling density, herbaceous cover and diversity as well as shrub density. Photographs are taken from each end of the transect to document change.
