2015. Determination of Algal Species Present in Aerial Environments in Great Smoky Mountains National Park
The Smokies is a center for deep and considerable algal diversity. Seven divisions of algae were represented in the soil: Cyanophyta, Chlorophyta, Xanthophyta, Eustigmatophyta, Bacillariophyta, Euglenophyta, and Dinophyta. At least 42 species of non-diatom algae have been identified in park soils, 19 of which are new park records. IARs contain many species names and records.
