The overall goal of this project is to gain an understanding of arthropod diversity, both globally, and within the park over time. It is nearly impossible to find taxonomists to identify all organisms from a single trap; however, with the use of DNA barcoding, species within a collection sample should be identifiable. A malaise trap was operated at the Twin Creeks ATBI plot from April 17 to November 27, 2012, and sent to the University of Guelph to compare DNA barcoding results with those of traditional taxonomy.
