To expedite protocol development, I&M networks have the option of formally adopting and implementing peer-reviewed protocols approved by other networks within NPS, or in use by other agencies. Networks may submit a Protocol Implementation Plan (PIP) to their regional program manager for approval in lieu of a full traditional Protocol. This document provides guidance on this process.
