2015. Pyreno Pursuit: A bioblitz to discover the diversity of pyrenomycetes (Ascomycota, Fungi) in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Pyrenomycetes include chestnut blight and beech bark disease, but most are harmless saprophytes (decomposers) on dead wood and are inconspicuous to the untrained observer, but species rich. Most of the collecting has been by traditional searching techniques throughout the park, but some plots have been intensively surveyed.
