Dissertation includes a series of behavioral studies of mecoptera, especially hanging flies of the family Bittacus, mostly conducted in Michigan. Some observations that may have been conducted in the park looked at behaviors of Bittacus apicalis and B. pilicornis in the wild. Dissertation also includes studies of scorpionfly (Panorpidae) taxonomy, including attempts at cross-breeding species, that includes material collected from GRSM.
