ABSTRACT: A fungus causing heartrot in hardwoods, long misidentified by U.S.D.A. forest pathologists as Corticium lividum, has been identified as C. chrysocreas. Basidiocarps and cultures of C. chrysocreas and C. livida are described and illustrated. The new combination, Phlebia chrysocreais, proposed.
