From the introduction: "The overall purpose of this study was to gather information that will help support application of VERP [Visitor Experience and Resource Protection]to Acadia National Park. In particular, study objectives focused on the three elements of the VERP framework that can benefit the most from empirical data: 1) collecting baseline data on visitor use and associated impacts, 2)identifying indicators of standards of quality for the visitor experience, and 3) monitoring indicator variables.
