Measured Erosion at Cape Krusenstern National Monument, Northwestern Alaska
In 1987 and 1988, National Park Service archaeologists conducted an archaeological survey in the Cape Krusenstern National Monument. In the course of these two summers of survey, the archaeologists located several archaeological sites that were being eroded by the Chukchi Sea. In order to keep track of the severity of this erosion, a procedure to monitor coastal erosion was established.
