Systematic Studies in Carex Section Hymenochlaenae Drejer (Cyperaceae)

Waterway MJ. 1988. Systematic Studies in Carex Section Hymenochlaenae Drejer (Cyperaceae). Cornell University

Dissertation looks at taxonomic problems in a group of sedges (Carex sp.), including the possible hybrid origin of Carex knieskernii Dewey, systematics of the C. debilis--venusta complex, variation and evolution in C. gynodynama, C. mendocinensis, and C. hirtissima in California, and the use of archene micromophology in Carex systemics. She appears to have used C. debilis specimens from GRSM (held permit to collect in 1983), though only refers to collection sites as "Sevier County".
