Changes in the landscape of the Jemez Mountains, New Mexico
Allen CD. 1989. Changes in the landscape of the Jemez Mountains, New Mexico. University of California, Berkeley
This dissertation studies changes in the landscape ecology of the Jemez Mountains, NM. Aerial photographs, old park service files, and field sampling and mapping were analyzed using geographic information systems. Fire scarred tree cross-sections were examined to produce a fire history. The results of human disturbances such as fire suppression, overgrazing, and insect diseases are discussed.
