The Tanque Verde Allotment is located on the southeast end of the Santa Catalina Ranger District. The southern boundary of the Allotment runs along the northern slope of the Tanque Verde Mountains. The Allotment consists of approximately 20,480 acres, of which about 13,700 provide suitable range for cattle grazing. Slightly less than half of the suitable range (6,300 acres) lies within the Saguaro National Monument. The Forest Service administers the grazing on the Park Service land.
