Grazing in southern Arizona is marginal and succeeds best when water is available to supply the needs of the livestock. Grazing in the Rincon Mountains of Saguaro National Monument ceased as of December 31, 1975 when the Special Use Permit allowing use of water from Turkey Creek (Turkey Creek Spring / Blackberry Spring). Correspondence after that time referenced this use of water, but apparently followup ceased after the Superintendent rescinded the use of the spring and pipeline in 1977.
