Cactus Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl Survey for the Proposed Repavement of Cactus Forest Loop Road, Saguaro National Park, Pima County, Arizona

SWCA. 2004. Cactus Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl Survey for the Proposed Repavement of Cactus Forest Loop Road, Saguaro National Park, Pima County, Arizona

SWCA Environmental Consultants was contracted by Saguaro National Park, Rincon Mountain District, in 2004 to conduct cactus ferruginous pymy-owl (CFPO) surveys along the Cactus Forest Loop Road and the adjoining roads to the Mica View and Javelina Picnic Areas. No CFPO were detected along this route in 2004 during any of the three surveys that were conducted. CFPO were also not detected in 2003. Given the low rates of CFPO detection in this general area over the past five years and the parameters under which the work will be conducted its is unlikely that the proposed project will negatively impact any CFPO populations, if present, within Saguaro National Park
