Field data for the Vegetation Mapping Inventory Project of Shiloh National Military Park
2003-2010. Field data for the Vegetation Mapping Inventory Project of Shiloh National Military Park
This reference is an assemblage of field data collected as part the baseline vegetation inventory for the park unit. Typical files here are vegetation plot data, accuracy assessment data, field photos, PDF showing locations of vegetation plots and accuracy assessment data, and other data for this type. The inventory and monitoring project covers two main areas: permanent plot establishment for future research in the park, and a vegetation classification of all the vegetation associations within the park according to the National Vegetation Classification. 56-meter buffer just within the current park boundary since each point represents the center of a one-hectare circular plot and we did not wish to sample any private holdings outside of the park. With this buffer in place, an evenly spaced grid system was established. We chose the approximate grid size of 1000 meters by 1000 meters, slightly larger than the 900 X 900 meter size. At each north-south and east-west line, we recorded the coordinates for one grid point.
