2016. NPS Alaska Fires
Layer containing historic ignition points of fires that have burned within park boundaries through 2015. Data were compiled from Alaska Fire Service, BLM and the State of Alaska Department of Forestry (DoF), and National Park Service park records. Point coordinates were recorded on Fire Report sheets and are of variable quality. Coordinates are now in geographic NAD83. This layer is subject to review and yearly updates. Last update in May 2016. This layer is based on and derived from the NPS WFMI database and was generated using the WFMI GIS export function.
