In 2009, Pecos National Historical Park (PECO) implemented a pilot recreational fishing program. The effect of the program on fish resources within PECO was monitored by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish. Five years after the Programs implementation, PECO requested assistance from the NPS Water Resources Division to evaluate the results of the program, and identify appropriate long-term policy and management practices necessary to manage fish resources within PECO consistent with NPS Management Policies. Recommendations are provided.
