This report describes the results of two visitor studies at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (NRA). The first study was conducted during May 2-8, 2007 (spring survey) and the second study during July 14-20, 2007 (summer survey) by the National Park Service (NPS) Visitor Services Project (VSP), a part of the Park Studies Unit (PSU) at the University of Idaho. Encompassing over 1.2 million acres, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (NRA) offers unparalleled opportunities for water-based & backcountry recreation. The recreation area stretches for hundreds of miles from Lees Ferry in Arizona to the Orange Cliffs of southern Utah, encompassing scenic vistas, geologic wonders, and a vast panorama of human history.
