Geographic variation in the leaf essential oils of Hesperocyparis in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Mexico

Ferguson GM, Sirotnak J, Gonzalez-Elizondo M, Adams RP, Gonzalez-Elizond S. Geographic variation in the leaf essential oils of Hesperocyparis in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Mexico. Research Permit and Reporting System

The leaf essential oils were analyzed and clustering revealed six groups: H. arizonica (AZ, NM, TX); H. lindleyi; an un-named Coahuila group; H. a. f. minor/f. glomerata, H. benthamii and H. lusitanica. The leaf oils of H. arizonica from Arizona, Cooke's Range, NM and Big Bend, TX form a distinct cluster and were surprisingly uniform.
