PI has collected at least 40 species of moth flies (Psychodidae) from the park, at least 11 of which are new to science. Most samples were found in samples collected by ATBI pilot study, but some additional specimens were collected fresh at seeps or with small malaise traps. One genus was new to North America. Eight undescribed species have been collected at Purchase Knob alone, one undescribed species was collected at Snake Den Ridge and Albright Grove, and a possible undescribed genus was collected at Metcalf Bottoms. At Twin Creeks and Tremont, Lutzomyia shannoni, a blood-feeding psychodid, was collected (new park record).
