Executive Summary: Mill B Log Deck Removal – Floodplain Restoration

Bueno M. 2015. Executive Summary: Mill B Log Deck Removal – Floodplain Restoration. Redwood National and State Parks. Redwood National and State Parks

Excerpt: "A portion of log deck at the former Simpson Mill B site was removed to allow the re-connection of Prairie Creek flood waters to floodplain. Three acres of floodplain had been filled with 10 to 15 feet of material in order to expand the log deck at the Mill B site. The project was done as mitigation for widening a portion of Davison rd. The CalTrans ISTEA program funded the project in an effort to provide alternative routing for bicycles on the 200 rd, linking Prairie Creek State Park to the old off highway bridge across from Berry Glen."
