This collection was generated by the Watershed Rehabilitation Program of Redwood National Park, a unit of the National Park Service (NPS). The materials reflect the policies, goals, plans, and implementation of this program for the period just prior to the park’s expansion, in 1977, through the early 1990s. As mandated under Public Law 95-250, the Program was established to stabilize and restore heavily disturbed and logged over lands in the Redwood Creek watershed. Redwood National Park and several California State Parks have been administered as a complex since 1994. The complex is referred to as Redwood National and State Parks. Watershed rehabilitation projects have been conducted on both state and national park sites. The Bibliography and Background Information section included in this finding aid lists secondary works that provide a context for the vast array of information and the level of detail documented throughout this collection.
