Excerpt from Abstract: "Juvenile anadromous salmonid trapping was conducted for the fourth consecutive year in lower Redwood Creek, Humboldt County, California during the spring/summer emigration period (April – August). The purpose of the study was to describe juvenile salmonid out-migration and estimate smolt population abundances for wild 0+ Chinook salmon, 0+ coho salmon, 1+ coho salmon, 1+ steelhead trout, 2+ steelhead trout, and cutthroat trout using mark/recapture methods. The long term goal is to monitor the status and trends of out-migrating juvenile salmonid smolts in Redwood Creek in relation to watershed conditions and restoration activities in the basin; and to provide data needed for Viable Salmonid Population (VSP) Analysis."
