In 2015 the NPS National Natural Landmarks (NNL) Program requested assistance from the NPS Water Resources Division in mapping and characterizing wetlands and identifying impacts on them from drying or visitor/wildlife use at the Summit Lake NNL, Mount Evans, CO. This report describes the work that a technical assistance team performed during an August 10-13, 2015 site visit and identifies follow-up work products to be completed. It also provides recommendations for: 1) future vegetation monitoring; 2) the planned Highway 5 reconstruction design; and 3) restoring the decommissioned road at Summit Lake NNL.
