Assateague Island National Seashore Subtidal Marine Benthic Inventory
Versar Coastal Monitoring and Assessment Program, Versar, Inc.. 2013. Assateague Island National Seashore Subtidal Marine Benthic Inventory
The GIS Project “Assateague Island National Seashore Subtidal Marine Benthic Inventory” displays several shapefiles and other georeferenced data listed in the geodatabase deliverable “AssateagueBenthicData”. Specifically, “Assateague Subtidal Benthic Samples” (AssateagueBenthicSamples) displaying benthic grab samples collected in each bottom type; individual bottom type polygons, “Gravel”, “Coarse_sand”, “Medium_sand”, “Fine_sand” and “Mud”; the original Maryland Geologic Survey Bottom Type polygon, “Original MGS Acoustic Classification” (MGSBottomTypes); “EastCoastStates” displaying coastal shoreline and State boundaries; and “FishTrawlCoordinateEvents” displaying trawl locations. The GIS project also has HTML links connected to each individual bottom type polygon that when activated, display tables listing all the invertebrate and fish species collected in each bottom type. Species Tables This folder contains tables of invertebrate and fish species collected in grab and trawl samples within each of the 5 dominant subtidal bottom types (gravel, coarse sand, medium sand, fine sand and mud) the beach. The folder also contains HTML files for each of the tables that are linked to each bottom type polygon in the GIS Project “Assateague Island National Seashore Subtidal Marine Benthic Inventory”.
