Fire effects monitoring data collected at Ozark National Scenic Riverways in Missouri. The data were collected during summer field seasons by the fire effects monitoring crew out of Ozark National Scenic Riverways from 1999 to Sept. 20, 2016. Data collected from FMH-style 50 x 20 m "forest" plots in dry woodland and moist woodland natural communities include; tree inventory to obtain species, density, and basal area, fuel load using 4 Brown's method transects for inventorying surface fuels and biomass (1999-2015), tree seedling species and density from a 5 x 10 m subplot, vegetative cover using the point intercept method (2007-2016) for all species below 2 m high every 0.3 m along two 50 m transects, species richness (2006-2016) using 1 x 1 m quadrats every 10 m along two 50 m transects in moist woodlands (3 transects in dry woodlands), and a total of 8 plot photos are taken at corners and midpoints along plot perimeter lines. Glade plots include the same monitoring metrics as the woodland plots but the plots are only 10 x 25 m and have fewer data points because of greater herbaceous density and diversity. Data collected from glade plots include tree inventory to obtain species, density, and basal area, fuel load using 2 Brown's method transects for inventorying surface fuels and biomass (1999-2015), tree seedling species and density from a 2.5 x 10 m subplot, vegetative cover using the point intercept method (2007-2016) for all species below 2 m high every 0.3 m along one 30 m transect, species richness (2006-2016) using five 1 x 1 m quadrats, and 8 plot photos are taken at corners and midpoints along plot perimeter lines.
