Field data for the Vegetation Mapping Inventory Project of Hopewell Culture National Historic Park
2011-2013. Field data for the Vegetation Mapping Inventory Project of Hopewell Culture National Historic Park
This reference is an assemblage of field data collected as part the baseline vegetation inventory for the park unit. Typical files here are vegetation plot data, accuracy assessment data, field photos, PDF showing locations of vegetation plots and accuracy assessment data, and other data for this type. A vegetation classification and mapping project was initiated in 2011 and completed in 2013. Protocols and products were produced following National Park Service Vegetation Inventory Program guidelines. Classification was based on 33 field plots and 54 georeferenced observation points. Mapping was based on air photo interpretation and heads-up digitizing of polygons. Accuracy assessment points obtained during 2013 verified that the map is 98.5% accurate. Field Work Summer 2011 - 2013: Plot Sampling = 33 Plots sampled in June 2012 by MoRAP staff Accuracy Assessment Points = 61 All collected in June and July of 2013 by Heartland Inventory and Monitoring Network and Hopewell Culture National Historic Park staff Observation Points = 54 Collected between September 2011 and June 2012 by MoRAP staff
