Feasibility Study for Native Fish Establishment in McKittrick Creek, Including Potential Reestablishment of Rio Grande Cutthroat Trout

Zeigler MP and Caldwell CA. Feasibility Study for Native Fish Establishment in McKittrick Creek, Including Potential Reestablishment of Rio Grande Cutthroat Trout. Research Permit and Reporting System

Stream temperature will likely be the determinant factor in assessing the suitability of McKittrick drainage to support a population of Rio Grande Cutthroat Trout. While these results represent only one season and one logger, elevated temperatures persisted above acute and chronic threshold and should be of concern for longterm persistence of Rio Grande Cutthroat Trout and cool-water fishes in McKittrick Creek.
